May 2009 Meeting

ALUMNI BROTHERS WILL HEAR A RE COLONIZING SUCCESS STORY AT THE MAY MEETING
Brother Joe Beers, Arizona ’83, will tell us the whole story of how a former active chapter, Beta Phi Chapter at the University of Arizona, is brought back to life from the early planning stages all the way to the re-installation ceremony and what is planned for next year and beyond when he speaks at the May meeting of the Phoenix Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter.
The meeting is set for Wednesday, May 13 2009 in the conference room of the Phoenix City Grille restaurant located at 5816 N. 16th Street (southwest corner with Bethany Home Rd.) in Phoenix. Cocktails at 6:00 pm, dinner at 6:30 and our speaker at 7:00.

MICHAEL BIDWILL TO SPEAK TO ALUMNI SIGS
Mr. Michael Bidwill, Owner and President of the National Football League Arizona Cardinals will discuss the team, the past glorious season, the 2009 season and the challenges the NFL is facing during the economic down turn when he speaks at the April meeting of the Phoenix Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2009 in the conference room of the Phoenix City Grille restaurant located at 5816 N. 16th Street (southwest corner with Bethany Home Rd.) in Phoenix.  Cocktails at 6:00pm, dinner at 6:30 and our speaker at 7:00.

Brother Tim Homan, San Diego State 1989, Associate Director of Major Gifts, will bring us up to date on the Foundation and it’s budget, investments, major gift results, annual fund results and much more when he speaks at the March meeting of the Phoenix Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter.

January 2009 Meeting

The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, 2009  (Note meeting change for this date to Thursday, January 15, 2009) in the conference room of the Phoenix City Grille restaurant. Our speaker will be Ms. Nicole Stickler, Executive Director of the Arizona Association of Counties.

Epsilon Upsilon Chapter at Arizona State is having their spring initiation on Saturday, April 26. I need one more Alumni Brother to help me with interviews at 10:00am at the Chapter house located at 606 E. Alpha Dr. in Tempe. Investiture will follow at 1:00pm.

I have the interviewing script and suggestions to use during the interviews.

CORPORATE, CAPITAL GAINS AND INCOME TAXES TO RISE. MORE GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS FOR BUSINESSES. 401Ks TO BE NATIONALIZED AND ADMINISTERED BY SOCIAL SECURITY? THE STOCK MARKET DIVES ON TWO SUCCESSIVE DAYS AFTER THE ELECTION. IS THERE HOPE FOR THE FUTURE?

What is the economic prognosis for the future? When will the stock market recover? When will banks start lending? These questions and others will be discussed when Mr. Robert D. Leinbach, Chief Operating Officer of Walton International (USA), Inc. speaks at the November meeting of the Phoenix Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter.

WITH THE POLLS ABOUT EVEN GOING INTO THE CONVENTIONS WILL SARAH PALIN PULL OUT A VICTORY FOR THE REPUBLICANS?

Randy Pullen, Chairman of the Arizona State Republican Party, just back from the convention in St. Paul, will discuss this and if he feels the control of Congress will weaken for the Democrats when he speaks at the September meeting of the Phoenix Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter.
